National Bible Bee Game Show Recap: Episode 301

The first Senior round of the National Bible Bee Game Show aired July 29th at 5:00 PM and August 1st at 9:30 AM (EDT). This age division is open to 15 to 18 year-olds.

Meet the four contestants from this episode:

Delie lives on a farm in Tennessee. She has eight siblings, five of them in Bible Bee. Delie enjoys studying the Bible, and says that Bible Bee gets better and better each year. 

Phillip is from California. He would like to learn Spanish some day, though he doesn't speak it now. Philip made up a rap about the Bible Bee with his sister.

Bethany is from Florida. She has made a Lego stop animation video about the Bible Bee with her brother. She says, "Whether or not we's God's Word that lasts forever." When Bethany's not doing Bible Bee, she enjoys playing piano and violin. 

Nicolas, who is from Ohio, has been in Bible Bee all six years. He says that it is a great way to learn more about Scripture and to be encouraged by other believers. Nicolas is in a vocational school learning construction.

Each contestant recited three passages of Scripture and answered three knowledge questions.

Hardest question:

Question: During Jonah's day, Tarshish was an important port for what sea-faring people?
Answer:  Phonecians

Favorite verse:

And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the Lord has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the Lord calls.

The two contestants with the highest scores, Nicolas and Delie, will advance to the semi-final round.  Phillip and Bethany are still eligible for a producer's wildcard position in the semi-final competition.
