Meet the four contestants from this episode:

Mark is from McKinney, Texas, but has been to India and Thailand, as well as seven other countries.  He enjoys reading and hanging out with his siblings and friends; in fact, Bible Bee has drawn his family closer together and helped him to meet new friends.  He would encourage people to "live for God's glory, and whatever you do, do all for the glory of God".

Isaac is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He started playing tennis a year ago and says that it's a fun thing to do with his dad.  He has also played piano for almost six years and finds it a good way to rest from studying.

Kara is from Ferndale, California, and was adopted from China when she was six.  Kara loves bird-watching, ballet, playing the violin, and--obviously--Bible Bee.  She says that Bible Bee has been a huge blessing to her family; it's hard work, but she really enjoys doing it.

Rachel is also from Pittsburgh.  Her favorite hobby is reading, currently the Redwall series; she also plays piano and violin.  To Rachel, the Bible Bee means perseverance.  Her mom adds that Rachel is very disciplined and that her family is proud of her.

Each contestant recited three passages of Scripture and answered three knowledge questions.

Hardest question:

Question: Who's desperate longing for rest was reflected in his child's name?
Answer:  Lamech

Favorite verse:

So we can confidently say, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?"

Hebrews 13:6

The two contestants with the highest scores, Isaac and Mark, will advance to the semi-final round.  Rachel and Kara are still eligible for a producer's wildcard position in the semi-final competition.

Congratulations to all four of the contestants!
